RUDE NUDE

Uncategorized
As you all already know, I’m experimenting more with simple natural shades and tones, and this is the perfect time of the year to utilize Nude in makeup and fashion.
I don’t own many items which are of a Nude/Beige colour so trying out MAC’s Taupe lipstick was big for me. I love my colour! Pinks, Purples and dark reds I’m all up for it.

IMG_3250

The nail polish below is from Primark costing just 80p! Primark cosmetics is seriously underated! The polish doesn’t smudge or chip easily which I was afraid of because of how cheap it was. It is also very long lasting with only around 2 coats needed.

IMG_3354

Yesterday I took myself shopping in the heart of London Oxford Street and brought myself these nude stick on nails. They were only £1 and I can’t wait to wear them to tonights event, so keep a look out on my review on them. I also brought a hot pastel blue colour so I will probably review them both together.

Let me know what shades of Nude you could recommend me!
Have a blessed Monday all!

I N T E R V I E W | Americas Next Top Model Finalist ALISHA

This week I am featuring the beautiful model/blogger and ANTM finalist Alisha who describes her style as Topboy Chic.

IMG_3224

I first discovered Alisha whilst taking a lazy day out to watch season after seaon of Americas Next top model (I’m Obsessed!) The season I came across was The Brits V.S The US girls – it was probably the best season I’ve watched. Alisha became my fav girl of the Brits so I stalked her a little bit and found that we actually follow each other on Twitter which I was rather happy about.

Alisha came top 4 in ANTM and since then she has collaborated with a number of brands and magazines such as BoohooMAN, MotelRocks, Miss Guided, Pretty Little thing, Pride Magazine, and many more. I completely adore her style individuality which has gained a lot of attention via her blog. Read our interview below and find out just how beautiful Tyra Banks really is.

IMG_3222

1) You have a very versatile sense of style, some days you are very girly and then you have your Tom Boy influenced pieces. Where do you ultimately find your inspiration for your fashion blog posts and for everyday style?

I class myself as a chameleon because I can easily mould and morph into many different things, honestly it’s because I like a bit of everything but I can’t just stick to one thing – I find it extremely boring & way too predictable staying the same. Every style post on my blog is a very true and accurate definition of who I am just in different concepts and looks, from a very young age I’ve been experimenting with my senses of style. My inspiration mainly comes from my environment and music most of all.

2) You have a blog post named ‘Tomboy at heart’ do you prefer to be cosy in menswear attire or is there nothing better than getting glammed up in your fav pair of heels?

I do prefer a tracksuit yes and some trainers (sneakers) and I tend to glam it up with some girly make-up and  hair. I like to refer to my style as Tomboy chic Lol. I like dresses too, sometimes…

3) Lets talk ANTM. You were a a finalist in Cycle 18, what type of opportunities have risen for you since taking part in the series?

Honestly not much modelling work wise, in terms of blogging I’ve had many opportunities to work alongside some amazing respectable brands, I’ve had some collaborations that I could only dream of, I believe every opportunity is a stepping stone closer to your dream.

I’m happy and very content now with how far I’ve come.

4) Is Tyra Banks more beautiful in ANTM as you were up close and personally with her on a weekly basis

Tyra is stunning, it was like staring at a dream every week believe me.

5) I still remember your video shoot that you and the other british girls took part in and won. Are you still in contact with any of the girls?

Most of them YES, but a vast amount of them don’t model anymore, some have become mothers even teachers. We all have crazy schedules so sometimes it’s hard to keep in regular contact, but I’m glad to have met each and everyone of them they will always share a big place in my heart.

6) You are a newbie to the Youtube world, what type of content can we expect from you in the coming months?

Honestly I’m winging it I don’t really know…I started YouTube because I have a story and I want to tell it to whom ever wants to listen, but not only that I find it so fun! let’s just say tons of fashion style stories, a few vlogs here and there & maybe some story time videos. Don’t hold me too it tho… Lol

7) I love your fur jacket with the checked shirt outfit on your youtube channel, whats your favourite piece that you’ve put together on your blog or youtube channel.

I think my long white faux fur coat I did for Missguided (White on White) but I adore the look I put together for Tomboy at Heart.  BoohooMAN was so down for the idea and concept and supported me all the way.

IMG_3223

8) Lastly, who is your celeb fashion crush ?

Gwen Stefani & MIA (Mathangi Arulpragasam) there both amazing to me and have had a huge impact on my personal style, I love them.

Highstreet Makeup Haul | Simplicity on a budget

Uncategorized

I was strolling through town on Monday afternoon, and ended up in Boots in the self selection department. I already told myself about 20 times that I’m waiting until the end of the month before I buy another makeup product but really and truly I don’t really listen to anyone 😦

I heard a lot of good reviews about Loreal true match foundation as they’ve recently stocked for darker tones in the UK. I first saw the foundation on one of my colleagues at work and she told me it’s a must have as it’s amazing coverage for only £9.99! The rest was history aha! I’m lucky enough to have been blessed with clear skin, so the coverage was perfect for me.

IMG_3214

The concealer I’m using is LA Pro from Beauty Base in Shepherds Bush Westfield, along with the mineral based pressed powder which are both £4 each. The concealer has a really nice yellow undertone, so it’s really good for highlighting and covering dark circles. AMAZING COVERAGE! I’ve been searching high and low for a good concealer so this is now my go to.

My next purchase was from Primark! The Primark in town (I live in Harrow) have started supplying cosmetics. They have some foundation, although I’d be a bit afraid to try them out. Lipsticks in pink, red and purple and lots of nail polishes. Everything in this area was under £5 which is why I brought this lipstick which was £1!!!! And a few nail polishes which will feature in an upcoming post.

This whole look took me under 10 minutes to do, which is good news for me as i’m one of them people who are constantly rushing for work and don’t have much time in the mornings to do a perfect full face. Cheap, cheerful & simplicity is defo the way for me this season!

I N T E R V I E W // The Green Haired Goddess

Interviews

soph

Runner up of Cosmopolitan Best Beauty Blog of 2015, INTRODUCING the Green haired beauty Sophie Hannah Richardson, who has collaborated with Rimmel London, ASOS and Motel Rocks. Read our interview below and get to know this beauty goddness.

I first came across Sophie’s fashion and beauty blog via social media as we follow each other on Twitter. When I finally took a look at her blog I was instantly in love! I adore how authentic her style is, the way she puts looks together really just makes me want to experiment with my wardrobe and buy everything on the high street both at the same time.

Having modelled for ASOS and Motel rocks Sophie certainly knows how to rock the lens. Her blue/green locks is her statement look which as you can see from her blog works perfect for any style she pulls together.

  1. You have a very 90’s Grunge meets urban rock and roll style – where do you find your inspiration?

I sure do! I sort of just go with the flow a lot with my style. I find that some days I can be rather basic, but others quite grungey. I like to mix it up a bit, it’s more fun that way. I’d have to say that Instagram and London street style are the main places where I might find a bit of inspiration though.

sophie boohoo

  1. You have an authentic attitude to fashion, when did you realise you wanted to showcase your style to the world via blogging and Youtube.

Well my friend actually introduced me to bloggers showing me what they did on Instagram eg. taking daily #ootds. And because she knew about my love for fashion she asked why I wasn’t doing something similar. So it kind of grew from there really. I started on Instagram, moved to a blog and now dabble in YouTube too.

  1. We have to talk about that stunning hair! Has your hair been bleached/coloured for a while or did you only recently decide to take the plunge and experiment with colour?

Oh why thank you! I do get a lot of attention because of my mermaid locks. I took the plunge and bleached my hair about 7 years go and have never looked back! I love how creative you can be with hair. I’ve actually had it many different colours and experimented whilst I was at university. I’ve been pink, blue, purple and green now!

sophie hannah

  1. You’ve had a lot of great opportunities come your way via the attention of your blog. What would you say has been the most memorable experience so far?

Yeah I’ve been very fortunate and my hard work has paid off. I’ve had some great opportunities come my way and my most recent was a YouTube collaboration with Rimmel London. I shot 5 videos for them! So keep an eye out as they’re coming soon!

  1. You were shortlisted as best Beauty Blogger for the 2015 Cosmo blog awards. How did it feel being noticed on such a wider scale such as Cosmopolitan Magazine?

Now that was amazing for me! I honestly can’t tell you how happy I was when I found out that I had been shortlisted. Since then I’ve just seen my blog flourish.

  1. You’ve done some modelling for ASOS, Motel Rocks and a few other brands. Do you see yourself venturing out more into the modelling world as times goes on?

I personally don’t feel like I’m model material at all haha! I’m so short for one! And I just don’t have that look that these model girls have. However modelling shoots are a lot of fun, so I’d never turn one down.

  1. You are known for your stunning green locks. Do you think you will experiment with any other neon colours anytime soon?

I would love to experiment with every colour, but I feel like if I did everyone would shout at me! I get noticed for my hair a lot and I feel that the blue/green shades work best for me. I would love to experiment with wigs though! Less hassle and you can change your hair colour so often!

  1. I am so loving your pink coat from House of Jam! Please tell me they still have it in stock!?

Oh thank you! It’s amazing isn’t it?! I feel like a big bag of pink candyfloss! Unfortunately they’re having a rebrand so I’m not sure if they’ve still got it :/

sophie hannah 2

9.Who are your celeb style influencers?

This has probably got to be Kylie Jenner. I’m a sucker for The Kardashians and I love Kylie’s edgy style and coloured locks she comes out with.

kylie jenner inspo

  1. What is your favourite beauty brand – makeup and skincare at the moment.

Skincare, I’m loving Nivea’s moisturiser in the big blue tub. It’s so thick and leaves my skin hydrated and feeling soft. For makeup, I’d have to say Limecrime – I’ve fallen in love with every single one of their Velvetine lipsticks.

  1. Lastly, What brand that you haven’t yet worked with, would you love to collab with?

Now this has got to be Nasty Gal – I just HAVE to work with them eventually! Fingers crossed!

Glossy Box February Issue (UNBOXED)

Beauty, Uncategorized
This is my very first monthly gift box, and I love the whole idea of monthly goodies for skincare, makeup and just everyday life. I actually recieved this box on Valentines day aha. I came back home and saw this on my bed, such a lovely gift to come home to from my self to myself.
There are a few different brands that do something similar such as Birch Box and Glow box and the idea is you pay a subscription fee each month, I can’t exactly remember how much Glossy box is, but I know its definitely under £20 each month including p&p, so you pay the amount each month (you can un sub anytime you like by the way) and you will recieve a number of goodies, usually 4 or more in a pretty gift box. They are also full sized products too so it is always value for money.

This months theme was Love ofcourse, it came in this stunning white box with streded paper at the base for the products to be protected in.
I will forever be in love with the packaging! so elegant and crisp.

IMG_2674.JPG

IMG_2675.JPG

So let’s talk about what’s inside …
1. Natural and Organic protective hair mask

IMG_2974.JPG

I’m in need of a new conditioner, then this came along which was very handy. This mask has aloe and butter, nice and natural and smelly so great, I love products with that rich organic scent knowing that my hair is going to smell amazing.
2. Wilkinsons Sword Hydra silk

IMG_2981.JPG

I’ve never shaved or waxed before LOL I just use hair removal so this will be interesting to use. It is infused with a moisturising serum which is important for me as I have very very sensitive skin.
3. Nika K 24hr waterproof eyeliner

IMG_2985.JPG

The first thing I noticed about this was the rubber at the end which will be great for smudging the eyeliner for a nice smokey eye affect. I always buy waterproof mascara and eyeliner anyway because my eyes water quite frequently. The actual colour of the liner is a deep dark bronze which will look nice on hazel and brown eyes.
4. Slanted Tweezers (The vintage cosmetic company)

IMG_2983.JPG

What I really like about Glossy box is that they provide opportunities to come into contact with new brands that you may/may not heard of before, as well as the very well known brands such as NARS. I’ve never used tweezers before (because I hate pain) so i’m going to get my sister to do this for me and i’ll get back to you. Hopefully I wouldnt have chickened out lol.
I’ll be giving an update of how i’ve gotten on with these beauties in about two weeks time.

Khaki & Me : OOTD

Fashion, Uncategorized
The weather was so lovely yesterday, so there was no way I could miss out on a garden photoshoot that i’ve been imagining for the longest time.
I really love my garden, its so earthy and peaceful, so perfect for nature styled photoshoots and fashion posts, as it’s really big and full of greenery.
I haven’t done a fashion post in a very long time, so the excitement was real. This outfit is a very casual throw on stylish piece which I love.
Topshop ripped Jamie Jeans
I wanted a break from Topshops Joni’s as everytime after about a month, the insides of the top thigh would start to tear, its happened to about three of my Joni’s so I needed a break.
It was actually a sales assistant at Topshop who recommeded me these jeans. I wanted actual ripped high wasited, skinny fit jeans (although the jeans aren’t as high wasited as Joni’s) I really liked them and they’ve lasted me a few good months ever since.

IMG_2936.JPG.

IMG_6900

Now this jacket was actually recommended by my best friend. She dragged me to Topshop in town one evening, and was all over this jacket in the shop. I tried it on and instantly fell in love. I wear it most days (except when it’s raining) as it doesnt come with a hoodie. I love everything about it, including ofcourse the colour – now I just need one in black.

Hair Report!

Uncategorized

I don’t do many hair blog posts, so ive been quite excited to write this up for a while.

Hay beauts! Can’t believe we’re halfway through February already, felt like it was just yesterday when we were saying happy new year and sipping on Brandy and caribbean twist (MY FAV)

Anyway, like I mentioned, I don’t regularly do hair posts or much reviews so this is a lil exciting for me. Three years ago, I stopped relaxing my hair and I can tell you it is the best thing I have done for my hair. Not only is my hair thicker and healthier, but it’s less manipulation I need to do to my hair because it is already in a healthy state.

Now I’m not against permed hair in any way, shape or form. Both my sisters have relaxed and texturized hair and their hair is lovely (because they look after it very well) but for me I feel that there is too much that needs to be done to take care of relaxed hair, and I can be a little lazy, so having my few products that I use daily and co washing every week is just about enough for me.

Yesterday was also the first time in about a month that I used heat to dry my hair, mainly because I was in a rush to go out. Normally I let my hair air dry and use my oilology curl cream in the mean time and go about my business until I’m finished getting ready or whenever the hair has dried.

Below are a few of my favorite hair products that I’ve been using that has made me fall in love with my hair all over again.

  • Crème of Nature – Leave in Conditioner

Can I just say, I have never seen a product work so fast right before my eyes. Sometimes I find it hard to comb my fingers through my hair, but straight after using this I was able to do just that. My little sister has big hair that comes all the day down her back and we’ve been searching high and low for products for her hair and nothing really seems to work. We used this one time, and now it’s literally her go to.

IMG_1398

  1. Oilology Coconut Oil Shampoo and hair mask

mmmm these products smell AMAZING! Love it so much. I shampoo my hair once a month as I co wash (wash hair with conditioner) every week. I used the shampoo and then the hair mask right after and the curl pattern it gave my hair I could literally cry. The curls are so defined and my hair has never felt so soft. With the mask, they recommend to sit under a dryer whilst it’s on, but I’m an active person and can’t sit in one place for too long so I just cover my hair with a plastic bag for an hour or so or sometimes over night.

IMG_1458

  1. Crème of Nature – Argan Oil

I love me some Argain Oil, not too heavy and sticky with a suttle lovely smell, it works wonders in my fro. I usually seal it after using my leave in conditioner of any hair creams. Things like castor oil I know helps your hair to grow and blah but it’s just soo heavy and my hair doesn’t react well to heavy products. I think I mentioned this in a previous post.

IMG_1396

My coconut head LOL. This has been my fav hairstyle on my natural hair since my college days. What I usually do to achieve this style is twist the top part (the part which is more curlier than the others) leave that in overnight, then just take it out in the morning. I use my Oilology curl cream before I twist the hair, just so the curls are even more defined once I take the twists out. I then spray my hair with my Olive Oil Sheen spray just to give it abit of shine.

Let me know what hair products you naturalistas are using as well as any recommendations for hair treatments as i’m trying not to stick with just one product for eternity.

Behind The Scenes | Bianca Miller Hoisery Video Shoot

Fashion

On Saturday 19th December 2015, my brand Fashion Feast TV collaborated with Curly Hair Magazine, for the Bianca Miller Hosiery line video shoot held at Winterville, Victoria Park.

IMG_6806

I’m sure you are all fully aware of who Bianca Miller is, but for those of you who are not, she was a finalist and runner up on The Apprentice for the 2014 program which was aired. Her business idea was to create tights for all skin tones, from the palest to the darkest of shades, this was her unique selling point, that she is catering to all skin types and not just one particular demographic.

The range of tights comes in 8 different shades, from the palest being Powder, then Rose, Sand, Latte, Caramel, Chestnut, Chocolate and Mocha. When speaking to Bianca I thought I would probably be a Caramel but she told me I would definitely be a Chestnut. Which is available on BiancaMillerLondon.com for £12.

IMG_6789

Sandra who is the editor and director of Curly Hair Magazine, which is the first print magazine to cater for ladies with curly/natural hair, contacted me. She asked me if I would like to help out at the shoot in any way, shape or form and of course I was over the moon as I was completely obsessed with Bianca throughout the show. I just adored her determination and professionalism and how she constantly kept her cool even when others had negative things to say about her, she always kept about her business.

I decided that my role for the day would be to provide behind the scenes footage of the shoot which will be live on the Fashion Feast TV YouTube page very soon, as well as upload images of tiny 10 second snippets of the different shots on instagram and twitter using the hash tag #CurlyCollabo and #CurlyhairMag.

I was also able to interview Bianca herself too which was an amazing experience as I’ve been following her brand ever since she became a runner up and was always intrigued in how the final process of her brand #BiancaMillerLDN was going.

Uh oh .. what has Simone done?

The concept of the video shoot was a girl’s day out ice skating, using a group of natural hair bloggers capturing the images of Bianca’s tights on the ladies. I completely loved the location, it was by a river and because the weather was beautiful that day it was so lovely how the ray of sunlight was reflecting off that.

I had an incredible day and met the most inspirational bunch of ladies, not only was I not able to interview someone who I admire very much career wise, but I was also able to network with very hard working, determined individuals who are doing so well at their craft and inspired me further.

Shout out to Editor and director Sandra for allowing me to contribute towards an amazing opportunity and creative director Tiffany for bringing me in contact with great like-minded people.

Shea Moisture Hair Products Review

Uncategorized

I’ve been natural for around 3 years now, although I wear weaves a majority of the time. There are days when I just want to relax the crap out of my hair because sometimes it is just way to hard to maintain .. or let me rephrase – just too much effort of my time.

The funny thing is, having my hair relaxed will actully cost me more of my time and money because I will have to be taking double care as the chemicals will take away the proteins in my hair which I will need to replace much more often then if I left my hair natural. I’ve come a long way with my hair and I’m ever so proud of the current state that it has finally come to. I would take pictures and show it here but it needs washing lool soz.

So whilst I’m giving my hair a little break off weaves and what not, I’ve been searching high and low for natural hair products that ACTUALLY WORK, like I’ve been sick of these promises that I’ve seen with certain products that claim to work on kinky hair. The thing with my hair as well is that it can become very dry so once something is applied It literally swallows it all up which mean I’ve been using the wrong products clearly.

Then along came … SHEA MOISTURE! I first found out about Shea moisture for hair at the Bloggers LFW beauty bar in September, and was invited to their press launch which I unfortunately could not attend. They were due to launch in a few weeks time so it was very nice of them to offer me a bag full of some of their produts for me to try before hand.

IMG_1409IMG_1403

This treatment mask is actually everything! It contains Jamaican Black Castor Oil which the whole world knows makes your hair grow at the speed of light. What I really like is the texture of this mask, I’m so over all of those thick products that make your hair nothing but oily and don’t even moisturise the hair. The mask is quite light in comparison to others so it was very easy to wash off. The last time I used this mask was last week Saturday and my hair still feels very soft and norished. Really recommend this they are currently stocked in boots for a very decent price.

IMG_1407

mmmm I love me some styling lotion! I’m at a place where finding the correct lotion is coming quite difficult as there are so many products out there at the moment for natural hair, so many natural hair bloggers doing different things and using different products, and at the same time I really don’t want to spend a fortune on things I’m not even sure will work on my hair. However this styling lotion also contains Castor Oil, if you haven’t used castor oil on your hair before it is a very thick oil which works very well in the hair but is very oily and very heavy. So it’s quite good that it’s now in a lotion form, maybe I’m a little late but I actually love this because castor oil is the shizz! This lotion is lovely and light and leaves my hair feeling siky soft. I use it about 3 times a week and then I seal it with my argan oil (well it’s actually my cousins) but tough she left it at my house.

Now this is the yummiest of them all! It smells amazing! It has coconut infused and has been a good fuse for mantaining the curls in my hair and keeping it from frizz. I either use this or my other styling lotion, really depends on what type of mood my hair is in. It’s really important to capture your hair’s mood as one day it may need more attention for something then on another.

Overall I have fallen in love with these products that I’ve been given and do recommend the brand for individuals who have corse afro/kinky hair like myself. Very well priced and they are are currently stocked in boots

Enjoy!

Peace & Love

OOTD: Beige Fever

Fashion, Uncategorized

A lazy Saturday afternoon in Westfield Shepherds Bush with the bestest, turned into a bit of a photoshoot to say the least lol.

I haven’t shopped in a WHILLEEEE so I’m probably going to talk quite abit which isn’t really unusual of my character 🙂 You can probably notice that anyway by my lack of fashion posts so I know I needed a revamp as well as a treat for myself.

I’m completely in love with beige’s and browns this season! Fits in perfectly with the cool weather and is super easy to mix and match with different shades.

FullSizeRender FullSizeRender[1]

You guys already know how in love I am with Topshop’s Joni Jeans so I won’t bother draining you with that information again. I really like this Primark beige/brown turtle neck jumper, it is almost in a crop top form – a little bit longer than a crop but it’s the perfect fit for if you’re wearing high waisted. I brought this from the Primark in Stratford it’s sooo much better than the one in Oxford Street! They had differet colours white/baby pink (yes you’re probably surprised I didn’t pick up that colour) I have too much pink at the moment I think LOL

FullSizeRender[2]

The amount of compliments I’ve received from this jacket is beyoud me! I’m a fur freak anyway and I adore jackets with this type of cut. Yes it’s a beauty and it was only £18 from Primark in Oxford Street – I wish I was at their Press Day today cries

FullSizeRender[3] FullSizeRender[4]

I originally have these in Black and said that if I was to find these in white then they are an immediate purchase, and then magic was made! I just need something comfy to run around in, and sometimes black gets abit boring so these are my boo’s for the next month or so. They’re really easy to clean too as I’m always fussy about wearing white, hence why I do’t owe much white items but these are perfect and great for on the go. Only £9 from my fav store in the world .. Take a guess

IMG_1166

Last but not least, OFCOURSE I had to purchase an item which was pink, it wouldn’t make sense if I didn’t. I actually got this bag on discount. It was originally £45 but I got it for £33 – amazing right? Most of the bags I own are either really big or really small, I’m such an over the top person so I needed to venture out for a medium sized bag when I want to chill out in town on a lazy day.

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you think of my first fashion post in a VERY long time lol. Won’t be too long for the next one I promise x

Peace & Love
