MOTD | LFW
BeautyHi Lovlies,
As promised, I said in my LFW post that I will seperately write a post on my Make Up of the day for LFW which I really liked and was quite happy with.
For me personally, on a day to day basis im quite natural. Eyebrows filled, concealer under the eyes with a mineral based foundation poweder (Bare Minerals do the best!) So when it comes to events and nights out I liked to go full power because I get more time to experiment with different shades and coverage.
So I first set my face with Mary kay’s AMAZING primer, I call it Mary Bae because I’m literally one of those people who sweat like crazy just by walking fast to get to to somewhere and by the time I arrive for example at the train station I look like I’ve just smacked baby oil all over my face, and this is even on a cold day guys LOL I have really oily skin. But Mary Kay has really helped in mattyfying my face and keeping it cool. It also has SPF 15 which is very important in protecting the skin as we all know whether your light or dark skinned.
I then applied my Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer under my eyes, now what I tend to do is apply two concelers for two reasons. I want the dewy finish and full coverage and what I have noticed is that although my Urban Decay conceler is VERY good coverage, it tends to have an ashy finish to it and I noticed that when I first brought it as well so I apply that under my eyes, underneath my foundation and then I use MAC Pro Long wear (the finish is AMAZINGGG) on top of my foundation.
For my foundation, I used my favourite one that the whole wide world probs knows is my favourite. The Bobbi Brown stick foundation, I won’t go on too much about it because I have mentioned it in other post but one thing I can never get over is the air brush finish that it gives you, literally blew my mind away when I tried it for the first time.
To set my face I used the Bare Minerals Foundation Powder in Golden Brown. My sister was the one who introduced me to Bare Minerals, and I honestly love the apply and go factor that is has, because you can just apply and go with no fuss. My skin is very sensitive therefore I am very mindful of what I apply on my face – soaps, creams, makeup I have to be extra careful and Bare Minerals is used with natural ingredients which is what gives the natural flawless finish. I was honestly hooked ever since because I just use it in the mornings before work and re apply during the day if I need to which isn’t really needed, but because I work in Beauty and you have to be looking spectaular 24/7.
For my eyes and brow it was pretty simple. I used the ‘Starrt Eyed’ eye shadow palette by Barry M which I brought from TKMAXX for £4 in purple. I also used the MUA eyeliner which was £2 from Superdrug! It might of actually been £1 you know! You know what, if it wasn’t for this lovely girl who was assisting me on cheap beauty products I would of gone back to Urban Decay and spent £15 on their 24 hour liner which I love with all my heart, but every second I’m having to sharpen which rinses it out so quick.
For my lips I have the MAC Heroine lipstick with Nightmoth lipliner which was reviewed in my ‘Lippy Central’ post love it love it!
Lastly for my eyebrows I used again from MUA their eyebrow pencil which costs £1 in Brunette and works wonders. I think now the only thing I will spend a great deal of money on regarding beauty products are my concealers and foundations, and obviously my skincare regime. I honestly don’t need to spend a huge amount of money on products that do the same job as others which are alot lower priced. I was a little skeptical at first because if you’re hearing something is as cheap as £1 £2 you are automatically going to think something isn’t right, but I have had both my eyeliner and eyebrow pencil for around a month now and I don’t see it finishing anytime soon!
Have a great week!

Bloggers London Fashion Week Beauty Bar
EventsOn the 21st September I was invited by the amazing Bloggers Hangout team to attend their LFW Beauty Bar at the Beach Blanket Babylon bar based in Shoreditch. I loved the venue, it was so cosy and chic perfect for intimate network sessions.
I wore a pretty basic outfit by still looked stylish: A black peplum top with a pair of ripped jeans with wedges. I can’t remember exactly where I brought the peplum top from as it was a while ago, although I do think it was from Primark. The pair of jeans was from Primark in Coventry, which was brought around two years ago in my 2nd year of uni.
Yes these are all goodies I received at the event! I really love the ethos of Bloggers Hangout, it’s such a great opportunity for blogger babies and bloggers who have not got a huge amount of followers or hits on their page to network with such great brands and begin a relationship for future collaborations. This is my 2nd event I have attended through Bloggers Hangout, and already I have met some amazing brands and blogger friends through events like this and even via social media.
There were a number of different brands present at the event giving out different products to bloggers to try, from Shea Moisture which will be launching in Boots in the UK in October – they currently only stock in the US so this is very exciting. It smells so yummy so once I take out my current weave which will be in a few weeks time, I’ll catch up with ya’ll with a review on their products.
SensatioNail were giving us tips and tricks to keeping your nails healthy and stylish, I have always been a fan of SensatioNail but have found their stuff rather pricey, and I am the type of person who usually likes to try things out first before spending a huge amount of money on something new, so you can imagine just how happy I was when they gave me a bag supply of their product to try.
There was also a company named City Swish that were giving out free massages, thank you so much haha it was so needed! They come to your home if you live between zones 1-3 I believe. I of course had to live in Zone 4 so I’m not eligible unfortunately.
I used to hate attending events like these by myself so I would always try to drag someone with me like my sister or a friend. I was not confident what so ever to attend a NETWORKING event my self (LOL the irony) but I’ve learnt that it’s just business and you will meet other people like yourself who have come by themselves which I found so cool.
Met these blogger beauts at the event who both came by themselves haha, it’s nice to network with such lovely people who are on the same route with you. Gives you a whole heap of confidence and future collabs.
I know there’s a bunch of other products that I didn’t mention in this blog post which you have seen, but I will review them all separately because you know I don’t like my posts to become too wordy.
Have a blessed Week

What Bestie and Me wore to LFW | OOTD
FashionIn the lead up to the fashion week I was finding it tricky to look for an outfit, as I already knew I had a few things in my closet (some which have already been worn to events) but I was really not feeling to go out and spend money on an outfit however cheap that makes me sounds. My inital plan was to wear a peplum top with a pair of ripped jeans which I actually ended up wearing to a bloggers event the following day so I was kind of a little stuck.
My baby blue jumpsuit immediently came to mind, like magically! The colour looks amazing against my skintone and the whole fit of the outfit is really London Fashion weekey LOL that’s what I thought anyway. I styled it up with a pair of my wedges which I lasted a lot longer then I thought I would, but was still smart enough to bring a pair of flats. All of that running around made me exhausted, but I wouldn’t trade the day for any other!
Jumpsuit – Newlook
Wedges – Primark
Now for the 16 years of my life that I have known my bestie, I have been jealous of her hair since day 1 so you’re allowed to be jealous too guys 😦
She looked stunning for LFW, one thing I love about her is her individuality, I love the way she styles pieces together.
She wore a camel brown coat, matched with a dark brown skirt from River Island finished with a burgundy Zara hat which I love with all my heart.
I will do a seperate blog post on my makeup look for that day, I didn’t want this post to become too wordy and boring.
Let me know what you think of our looks! As well as suggestions for the next LFW

LONDON FASHION WEEK SS/16 FASHION FINEST
UncategorizedThis will be my second time attending London Fashion Week and again it was such an amazing experience! being able to network with amazing designers and catching up with Journalists and bloggers that I had met at previous shows was such a great vibe. My number one advice would be to get there early! haha I’d say atleast an hour early if you want to get a good seating area. Me and my bestie were too busy taking selfies at my house then had to speed walk in our heels which was very painful later on! However we were still provided with a good view of the show as we were in the press priority area which was a blessing! The show was filled with such talented designers showcasing their amazing SS/16 collections and there was yummy cocktails for refreshments available.
Every single collection which was shown was mindblowing but ultimately I fell in love with Sebastian London’s collection and you will see why below.
Designers:
1) Hellavagirl (Helen)
I really love Helen’s go – getting positive spirit, in my interview I done with her which will be published this week, you will see that she really does not care to or conform to ‘sterotypes’ or ‘season attire’ she kind of reminds me of myself because I like to wear bright colours all year round you won’t see me wearing dark colours much. I asked her if she purposely made her SS/16 collection black and white and her previous A/W15 brightly coloured to just be a rebel or was there a symbolic reason behind that. I’m in love with her work and you will be too in a couple of seconds.
2) AAugust
I met these two beauties at Africa Fashion Week which was in August funny enough, and speaking to these girls you can just tell that they are so passionate about their craft and will do everything to perfection. I was so happy when I read the list of designers and saw their name as they are the most down to earth bunch I have met in a while, I didn’t want to leave them lol. In my interview with the girls which will also be published this week, find out why their brand name is called ‘AAugust’ I was very intrigued. Enjoy the beauty below.
3) Sebastian London
Now this is how you know you are in a house full of fashionistas, when the crowd is cheering more then you are! Sebastian is such a creative intricute indivdivual and his pieces represent to me an angelic, innocent character with class. I loved the way parts of the collection were put together for the every-day out and about chicka. Such as the crop top paired with the nude skirt, and the jacket with fluffy arms paired with nude trousers with such minimal makeup. I really think that is the creative spark in Sebastian London’s pieces, the fact that the collection and brand speak for itself.
I would highly recommend visiting the LFW Fashion Finest off schedule shows, they usually start two days before the on schedule shows begin and are normally a two day event with shows throughout the day as well as access to backstage if you are press. The staff and team are amazing and I can’t wait to return in February!
It’s always lovely bumping into familiar faces at fashion events, I bumped into Afua who is Pride Magazine’s Features Editor. We met last year at the Jennifer Hudson Press pre album launch at Sony Music which was pretty fun.
Some beautiful people I met after ths show!
If you would like to know what me and bestie wore to the LFW show, keep a look out for my next blog post!

#RIP THE RUNWAY’15
Events, UncategorizedIf you missed Rip The Runway on the 13th June, then I am EVER so sorry but you heavily missed out BIG TIME!
The night was amazing, I had a very hectic day so attending RTR was on the last of my to – do list but I can tell you myself that the team did a fantastic job putting the whole show together!
To me the night wasn’t just about fashion, it was an amazing entertainment night in the most unique way – for example, RTR had Ayo Jordan who is a talented Violinist, what I loved about Ayo Jordan was that he took something so traditional and turned into something we can all relate to. When he played ‘I aint got no type’ by Rae Sremmurd the crowd literally went crazy it was such a vibe, ahhh no when he played ‘Wine & Kotch’ if you know me then you know I’m a bashment freak – he played this and another bashment tune that I can’t exactly remember the name of, I just wanted to scream I can remember that. Can you imagine my how crazy my snapchat story became.
The night started off with some comdy with Eddie Kadi and Maya, you see the thing with Eddie Kadi that I love so much, his jokes are so true to the bone and relatable he literally gets me into tears especially when he speaks about African countries and his life in Congo.

LUVLI LOUNGE
No guys, but these girls were HAWT! If you saw the amount of phones that came out LOOOL I applaud this brand so much because from what I have seen from the catwalk and also from their social media – the brands aim is to cater to all needs, and for me I really struggle to find the right bra that fits me and that I actually like because from what I see on the highstreet the bigger cap bra’s are usually plain and boring – unless you want to spend £30 on one bra from Ann Summers.
Guys love red initttt!! When this model and the girl in the braids above wore this red matching set the crowd actually went wild LOOL – I need the purple & white set Guys hook me up PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!
JOBENGA
What I liked about this design collection, was that it incorporated tribal wear into every day wear – it reminds me a little of Africa Fashion Week where they take traditional African prints and incorporate that into every day pieces you can wear on a casual day out.
NICOLE VERONIQUE
In my opinion, you always need a couple of white coloured items in your wardrobe, you can literally pair them with ANYTHING during the summer. This brand went above and beyond to showcase the beauty of such a simple, elegant tone.
This is the part where the magic happened, when Ayo Jordan took us back into old school RnB just playing his Violin IMAGINE!
MS CURVACEOUS UK MODELS
The Rise of the Curvy model is slowly coming into the forefront of the conventional modelling industry. Ms Curvaceous UK is a modelling agency, which aims to empower women of all shapes and sizes. They represented a new era of the fashion/beauty industry when they stole the runway stage at RTR! Read up on my article I wrote for AMOR magazine in their beauty section named ‘The Rise Of The Plus Sized Supermodel’ http://amormagazine.co.uk/the-rise-of-the-plus-sized-supermodel/
Entertainment for the night included Rough Copy, Mista Silver, Jhus, Fuse, LDNC Boys, Cherri and other UK talent. If you did not attend then as I said earlier I’m very sorry but just make sure you are there next year!!

Urban Decay Masterclass
EventsOn Tuesday 17th March, Urban Decay boutique (Covent Garden) hosted their first ever masterclass showcasing beauty trends and Spring/Summer inspiration. Our host for the sunny afternoon was NewPort Beach America’s very own makeup artist Amanda who flew in to tell us about exclusive launches as well as tips and secret techniques to achieve that flawless finish.
The one quote which remains with me until today from the masterclass was “Business on top, party at the bottom” which basically states if you want that simple look without being to boring, use neutal tones for the eye area with a red lippy or whichever colour ticks your fancy, I personally am in love with purple lippies so that will do for me!
The products Amanda used to create this sophisticated finish was the B6 Vitamin complexion prep spray which is great for reducing redness and bringing hydration and radiance to the skin which will help to brighten the skin. After preping the face, she used the anti ageing eye shadow primer and although it is prodominatly used if you are trying to avoid ageing any time soon, it can also be used to hide away redness and dryness in the eye area.
The next step to creating this finish, she used the Urban Decay All nighter eyeliner in waterproof, which stays on for up to 12 hours without reusage. A very light pressure is needed for apply it on as it gives a very deep black colour. This was placed on the top line of the eyes, whereas the 24/7 eyeliner in Perversion was used for the bottom line.
Amanda then used the crease brush to apply the Naked 2 Pallette, she describes the tones in the pallette as “Edgy” targeted at the “city – NewYorken/Londoner” For the lashes, Amanda preped the lashes with the eyelash primer which comes as a white coated form. I have this primer and it is amazing, as I have very short lashes it really does wonders for me. It’s really great for stressed lashes that need that constant repair and hydration.
She then used the Perversion mascara (which I also have) which is good if you like or need that full false lash effect. Aparently this was KimK’s choice of mascara on her wedding day.
Amanda next reached for the heavy metal gliter liner and used the blue tone to bring light to the eye area. (They had it in pink, I was soo happy!) It can be used as a liner or just to pack over the lids – rumour has it Madonna and Beyonce use the liner in between the lashes!
Next Brows! Amanda wanted to give the Cara Delevigne lush brow look – doesn’t she just always look so edgy yet so natural? She used the brow kit which consisted of two shades – ‘Brown Sugar’ for stronger more defined brows if you are darker haired, or Honey pot for light brow haired.
The foundation used was the UD skin liquid which gives your skin a flawless, glossy, natural finish. The look we all dream of!
Products used: MAC lippy (Heroine) UD electric pallete eye shadow, Brow box (brown sugar) #MissPurple
Hope you’re all enjoying your Easter Monday!
LFWEND – Street Style, Highstreet and Wine ..
EventsOn the 28th February, AC (AfroCosmopolitan) was invited to attend the amazing London Fashion weekend shows at the stunning Somerset House where London Fashion week is run every September and February. The LFWEND shows showcase different type of highstreet trends that we all love! It’s also a way of discovering new brands and the amazing pieces that have to offer.
After we were given our press passes and directed through the enterance we headed to the west wing where there were many UK brands showcasing their amazing pieces such as acessories, bags and shoes, we couldn’t resist but to do a little window shopping. So heres a litte sneak peak at some of our fav pieces
Cleo B disaplayed some amazing jewellery pieces, this ring set was our favourite. The emerald green ring would give such an edgy affect and a fantasic statement piece.
Statement Pieces
Necklaces can sometimes be hard to get right with an outfit piece. This gorgeous necklaces pieced together from three completely different colours is so unique.
These beauties were exclusively chosen by sensational worldwide blogger Susie Bubble.
How amazing are these coloured handbags, the greatest colourblocking statement piece, and you guys already know how much we adore brightly coloured pieces. If these bags don’t shout that S/S15 has arrived then we have no idea what will!
Showtime!
Florals and prints always make a great enterance and excites us all for the Spring season. Different colours, cuts and statement pieces has given us a real understanding of what we should be expecting in our highstreet stores in the next couple of weeks, so get floral and excited for Spring which officially began on the 20th March. Our favourite piece from the Hyper Floral collection was the floral turquoise midi dress, which displayed different shades of blue as well as stripes of white designed around the dress. Another favourite was the floral berry red blazer matched with a pair of shorts which displayed two shades of green in a floral pattern. At AC, we are pro anything sharp, colourful and confident which gives the overall classy ensamble – this piece did just this!
Make It Monocrome #Trends
When will black and white ever go out of season? Its perfect for the cold weather as black always gives that perfect classy finish, and great for the SS season as your whites can be easily paired with a chic black and white striped top for that overall sleek look, just how the below model how showcased an example of the perfect black and white Spring look.
Halston Heritage #Designer
The last collection of the day was the Halston Heritage designer brand. The pieces were nothing but elegant, sleek, simple and edgy. Our favorite piece had to be the ankle lengthed dress with stripes of black and white. We loved the figure hugging ensamble that the look gave and also the idea of having the neck area in an upside down V neck shape, which brings your attention to the full overall piece.
You can’t end your fashion day without a glass of bubbly. The day was slightly hectic and tiring, but exciting and amazing. We met unknown and up and coming brands who deserve amazing recognition for their spectacular work that they put into their elegantly put together pieces. We now know the two trends to look out for this Spring season. ‘Florals’ and ‘Monochrome’ ofcourse not forgetting to add in your own spin and twist to the trends already on display. We love spring, and so should you, so on that note Happy Spring and Happy trends shopping!

#StreetBoutiquing
BeautyHey lovely people, I know it’s been some time but I’m back like I never left and I have some exciting stuff to fill you in with!
As most of you folks know, I’m in my final year of uni currently at the last hurdle, one more assignment (my final project) before I am free as a bird so the last month or so has been focused on putting my portfolio together, essay completion as well as working so I literally have had zilch time for blog posts, outings or any fun 😦 This is my first blog post in about over a month, I’ve wanted to write this up for the longesssst time but if I wasn’t doing the above I was catching up on very minimal sleep.
On a brightner note, I have a lot more free time now – it sounds funny saying that as I have the biggest project of my whole 3 years of universtity to complete – but funny enough, I’m not stressing about it AT ALL more to do with the fact that my project is based on something I enjoy researching about so it really doesn’t seem like work (more on that in another blog post)
In February, I was working in Covent Garden which is 5mins away from Picadilly Circus and Trafalgar Sqaure for those of you who did not know. It is the most beautiful place for a quiet shopping trip as they have all the stores you want without the hussle and bussle of impatient Oxford circus people. You can tell that prior to working in this area I had no clue of Covent Garden, though I knew of the place – I was always an Oxford Circus girl! But after February I will never look back HA!
I loved the narrow roads in between the different areas, it reminded me of when I visited France years ago such a cute little community LOL. What captured my heart however was the boutique shops that I never knew ever existed apart from in our favorite department stores. I’m talking URBAN DECAY, BARE MINERALS, DIOR, BURBERRY, BENEFIT – Ok I need to stop shouting, but I never knew that these brands existed as their own independent boutique store!
My first stop ofcourse was Urban Decay, I worked on their brand a few times when I was doing agency work over the summer and I completely adore their range of eye shadow colours, my favorite set is the Electric Palette, the colours are so pigmented and long lasting. I also love their eyelash primer and perversion mascara if you’re like me and have short lashes this combo is perfect for that false lash effect if you like everything big and bold like me.
The store had only been open for two months, the manager of the store Lani was lovely! She gave me a free sample bag with a lipstick, a primer and a prep spray to review on (look out for it on a future blog post soon) if you guys haven’t visited the store yet I advise you to, it’s so girly and edgy and not all busy and cramped like the ones in Oxford street sides. Can I just say I absolutely ADORE the Urban Decay bag they gave me, the tissue paper and everything just makes the whole set look like it was made for me and only me. Also, the Urban Decay makeup artist from America NewPort beach Amanda will be doing a masterclass next week Tuesday in the store – free shampagne, free cupcakes how could I of said no? LOL look out for my blog post on how that event went down probably on Wednesdays post. Can’t Wait!
See Ya Soon

#ThePinkCoat
FashionI’ve never really understood the whole ‘Winter = dark colours, Summer = bright colours’ ideology. I’ve always worn whatever colour clothes whichever time of the year aslong as I looked good, was warm and comfy.
As you can tell from my previous post I love the colour pink and I’ve brought a few pinky things lately. Little secret, well it’s not really anything to be ashamed about but my fav shop is PRIMARK!! If someone brought me a Primark giftcard I would actually love them forever – I’ve always wanted one.
So I Purchased this jacket a few weeks ago, it was actually my friend that noticed it first then I said “sorry mate looks like we’re gonna be matching cuz I have to buy this jacket too” it’s such a perfect statement piece I can draw for if I’m having a plain day.
So guess how much this babe was please .. I made my mum guess about 7 times. It was £5!! At first I was a little worried about the oversized appearance because I always like things that are fitted but when matched my my flux’s I couldn’t resist to to be honest.
Check out my instagram to see what other pinky things I pair together
